Last month, Radisson Blu Boulogne invited me to one of their fortnightly jazz soirées. Located by metro station Porte de Saint Cloud, Radisson Blu Boulogne has 170 rooms, and if you're a sports fan it's located right next to the Roland Garros tennis courts and the Parc des Princes football stadium.
Before we sat down to dinner, there was a tour of the hotel with Antoine Clement, the meetings and events coordinator. He showed us the private terrace where you can have an after-work drink or dinner, as well as the conference rooms where you can host a business seminar, and the main restaurant which can be privatised for social events.
We also had the opportunity to see two types of rooms: Business Class and Suite. The style of Radisson Blu Boulogne is distinctively business-like, the rooms are comfortable but practical with a strong underlining sense of excellent service. Antoine explained the "one-touch service" policy of Radisson Blu. Pick up the phone and dial the blue button and you'll get through to Radisson Blu staff who will help you with your request. I'll be sure to put Radisson to the test on my future stays with them.
We were then served an apéritif and shown to our dinner-table, where the jazz trio were playing their set. Enjoying a three-course meal whilst being serenaded by classics such as "Fever" and "On the sunny side of the street" was a very pleasant way to spend my Thursday evening. Boulogne is not central Paris, and because of the business-feel to the hotel, I'm not sure how often I would personally venture out to Radisson Blu Boulogne. However, if I were more local to the area, it would make for a pleasant change to the heaving terraces to be found all over Paris. I did however have a lovely evening courtesy of Radisson Blu and have only high praise for their attentive customer service.
