Where has the time gone?! I cannot believe a whole month has passed since i last blogged! I have been incredibly busy at work, there have been a few weekends away with friends and JB, i have continued in my baking endeavours, i lost my blogging mojo...I could go on and on and on!
Some exciting news - JB and I have booked our holiday tickets! We'll be going to Bali (via Malaysia) for 3 weeks at the end of September! I have to admit, I am pretty excited for this, and I am lucky enough to work with someone who goes there regularly with her husband. So we have been given lots of ideas, lots of useful tips and I ordered the Lonely Planet Bali travel guide this week as they are always bursting with suggestions.
Ryan was out to visit last weekend: we did a lot of Velib'ing (French Boris Bikes), we even made it to the Château de Vincennes which was lovely! We decided to do the guided tour, but bailed after 20 minutes and did our own tour, due to the slightly wacky (and not in a good way) tour guide!! We saw the new Batman movie, which we all really liked – especially as we went in not expecting much. We did a lot of eating too, my goodness I had not consumed so much bread or cheese in aaaaaaaages !! It was lovely to have Ryan out here. We also watched the Auntie Mame film with Rosalind Russell. If you don't know of this Patrick Dennis book, I thoroughly recommend it! I wrote about it on here back in January…

The book I suggested for book club actually won the poll! Which means I have to host the next meet-up at the end of this month…the book is "Let the Great World Spin" by Colum McCann. I've ordered the book off Amazon, and it should be arriving soon. I've heard a lot about it, so I'm looking forward to discovering it. Have any of you out there read it? I'm going to be needing books for Bali, so if any of you have any suggestions for me, please feel free to share your recommendations!!
