Earlier this month I was kindly invited to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Chez Minnà. Having already fallen under the spell of this charming Corsican restaurant a few months ago, here is the perfect opportunity to share a Parisian dining gem with you.
As the cold wintery nights envelope us, what better way to find refuge with friends than with some hearty comfort food from the beautiful island of Corsica? Chez Minnà is not for the faint-hearted, so be sure to work up an appetite and have an excuse to sample most of the menu : ) My advice would be to start with a cocktail and a plate of Corsican charcuterie (16€) but the breaded ham croquettes (8€) also go down really well. Warning - sharing with friends may be tough.
Moving on to the mains: take your pick from dishes such as the Beef Tagliata (20€), Sautéd Veal (18€) and Canelloni (16€) - all made with a healthy dose of Corsican love. The friendly and attentive waiting staff can help you choose a suitable (Corsican) wine from their extensive wine list.
However full you may feel do not skip dessert. I repeat, do not skip dessert. I highly recommend the chocolate sponge (7€) and cheesecake (9€) having proudly sampled both of them.
Whilst the food and drink options are top notch at CM, it's also the ambiance that makes it such a special spot. That particular evening we were treated to the amazing vocals of Romain, a friend of the owner, who sounded almost like an opera singer whilst serenading us with classics from Oasis and Radiohead. There's no doubt that I'll be going back to introduce this place to my friends.
